Coach House, 3years- 5 years
The Coach House is situated across the courtyard from the main nursery building. As it is likely that our pre-school children are entering their last year at the nursery, the location allows the children to feel more independent and prepares them for transition to school.
The building consists of three areas. A ‘classroom’ area an Arts and Crafts area and an area which allows the children to role play imaginatively. Children are able to take more control of their own learning by using the carefully constructed areas. Sand, water, a tactile area, construction and a creative area are all available daily.
Within the Coach House, the upstairs consists of resources which allow the children to play imaginatively. The homely environment is a favourite area of all the children. ‘Nooks and crannies’ allow the children to use fabric and dress up to enable creativity to take over.
The team within the Pre-school have a good knowledge of this age and their development. The staff within the room hold Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and a Safeguarding certificate.
The layout of the building provides the children to participate in free flow play. The outdoor area is an extension of the building and provides opportunities to develop in the seven areas of learning.
